New K-9 Ranch School Equine Program

Our Ranch School, presented by JA Peruvian Paso Horses, is an educational equestrian program designed specifically for homeschool and charter homeschool students in Riverside County: located locally in Hemet, California.

We offer structured, multi-disciplinary courses that fulfill K-9 Physical Education (PE), Biomechanics, and Biological Science goals. Unlike standard recreational riding barns, our facility utilizes purebred Peruvian Paso horses. This breed provides two significant advantages for your homeschool students: Physical Accessibility & Smooth Gaits: The Peruvian Paso possesses a 100% natural, four-beat lateral gait (Paso Llano) that entirely eliminates the harsh, vertical bouncing of a standard trot. This makes horseback riding highly accessible for students building core strength, or those with sensory processing needs, as they develop balance without physical impact.

Benefits:

👍🏼 Confidence : build self-assurance and improve self- stem as the students progress.

👍🏼 Responsibility: Learn horse care, routine, and respect for animals.

👍🏼 Fitness: Develop balance, core strength, coordination and outdoor activity.

Ranch School, Ranch Skills Detailed (K-9 grades)

Our course is divided into an academic theory lesson, where the students will learn about safety, how horses think, main breeds of horses, grooming tools, horse care, horse anatomy, etc, and then a hands-on practice time with our trainer and a horse, where they will apply all what they have learned in the lessons, and slowly introducing them to riding.

Private Riding Lessons (K-12 grades)

We also offer the option of private Riding lessons and horsemanship, one on one time with trainer and horse (please reach out to check times and availability).

We are not a drop off program, so one parent needs to stay in the ranch, while the student is having a lesson. Our facility, near Diamond Valley Lake, includes premium riding and groundwork spaces, lots of tables and chairs, shaded area where parents are welcome to sit and enjoy the views, and relax their senses.
